Winner of the ‘Discovery of the year’ award at the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Joey B and BET award winner Sarkodie could be be the first Ghanaian artists to record with any member of renowned hip hop entrepreneur Jay Z’s Roc Nation should plans by Vic Mensa to work with them materialize.
In an exclusively interview with www.nydjlive.com, the U Mad hit maker who was on a short trip to Ghana for his grandmother’s funeral disclosed he would love to work with both because they have the biggest buzz.
According to Vic Mensa, his decision to work with Joey B and Sarkodie was informed by the buzz about them and their works he listened to whilst in Ghana a couple of years ago when he visited the country.
“I like Joey B and Sarkodie and would love to work them. When I just came Joey B was just the hit…”
Asked if he would love to work with them anytime soon, he answered in the affirmative saying, “yeah, that will be cool.”
Vic Mensa is currently readying the video to his new single No Chill which features Skrillex. He also revealed his new album Traffic would be out soon.
Born Victor Kwesi Mensa to a Ghanaian father and a white mother, Vic Mensa is signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation which serves as home to J.Cole, Big Sean, Rihanna, Rita Ora and over 30 others.
