Ghanaian Celebrities Who Are Physically Challenged/Disabled But Successful

Disability is the consequence of an impairment that may be physical, cognitive, mental, sensory, emotional, developmental, or some combination of these. A disability may be present from birth, or occur during a person's lifetime.

Note: This Article is not intended to mock or discredit anyone or defame anyone's personality but to serve as an Inspiration to people who might in a way look upon a look, disability, challenge to Relax on their dreams.

Disability Is Not Inability, and we can take inspiration from some celebrities who have been able to move through the ranks to be successful despite their disability, or physical challenges.


1. Stonebwoy‬

Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy is the stage name of Livingstone Etse Satekla who won the Artiste of the Year award at the just ended 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has stated that disability should never be a hindrance to stop one from achieving his or her goals.The BET Award winning Dancehall Artist who is taking Ghana on the International map, despite the fact that he is a limping man 'apakye', it has never despised him from pursuing his dream thereby becoming one of the biggest Musicians in Ghana.

The Bhim Nation Boss is an Inspiration to all 'Apakye's' In Ghana. He Is Quoted “Ever since I had an accident at the Tema Motorway, my leg had never been perfect. But I said to myself I will make it no matter the situation”, he said. 


2. Bisa‬ Kdei 

Ronald Kweku Dei better known by his stage name Bisa Kdei is a Ghanaian native solo singer and record producer from Eastern Region. He has been the first Ghanaian musician and second African musician to be verified on Facebook, Bisa Kdei is also the first Ghanaian artiste to break into the limelight with a movie sound track.
He has received numerous industry awards including the best Movie soundtrack of the year, both at the 2012 Ghana Movie Awards and the Kumasi Based Movie Awards.

He has an eye problem, he is “Aluukume (Ani Kyew)”. He’s alright looking, nothing special but that didn’t stop him from becoming the prolific singer he has become today. God bless him for his input in Ghana music. Long-live Bisa Kdei the mansa hitmaker.

3. Moses‬ Foh Amoaning 

The Lawyer cum Sports Analyst Lawyer, who is brother-in-law to the musician Sarkodie is an albino a disability with a high stigmatization has been able to keep his head up and now commands huge acceptance than most non albinos in the society.


4. Jackie‬ Ankrah 

An ace broadcaster, was taken to the alter at the Wesley Methodist Church by Mr. Peter Annan some years back, the beautiful host of Asanka Delight on Tv3 is an Alukuumi (an kyew) but that never stopped her from appearing on TV.


5. Dr‬. Henry Seidu Daanaa

Dr‬. Henry Seidu Daanaa will contest in the Wa East parliamentary primaries, the Minister for Chieftaincy sad enough is physically eye impaired 'blind'. This Did Not Stop him from moving through the ranks to be a Minister of State.


6. Phillipa‬ Baafi

The Gospel Diva and go high singer Phillipa‬ Baafi also has a sexy eyes deformity 'I lukumi, I luku London' but has been able to make it big in the Industry as one outstanding gospel diva's of our time.

7. H‬.E John Agyekum Kuffuor

The Former President of the Republic of Ghana H.E John Agyekum Kuffuor, who was one time the first gentleman of the land is also an 'Alukuumi' as he is mostly referred to as the sexy eyes. Upon All this he was one of the best Presidents Ghana Ever Had.
