Former Vision FM Presenter and Deputy Editor of Flex newspaper, Kwame Dadzie, will from Sunday 11th October, 2015, be hosting a television programme called ‘The Gospel Countdown Show’ on Care TV, on Multi TV.
Kwame Dadzie who has been off radio for close to a year says he’s honoured by his new job offer because it’s quite different from what he used to do on radio and that would challenge him to bring out the versatility in him.
“It’s kind of a new thing, especially being a gospel programme. Initially, when the programme was given to me, I asked myself why Gospel but upon second thought I realized it could be an opportunity for me to show the world how versatile I am in presentation,” he said.
Asked how prepared he was for the television experience since it is different from radio, Kwame intimated that he knew it would come with few challenges but he was ready to learn and quickly make the show a household one.
“This would not be my first time presenting a television programme. I remember I once sat in for Sammy Flex on his Entertainment Capital on Capital TV. Yet, I know there is more I would have to learn as time goes on,” he added.
The Gospel Countdown Show will be aired on Sundays from 5pm to 6pm on Care TV. The show will be made up of a countdown of 20 gospel songs in the country. Reps from the various regions would also give an update on which gospel songs are making it in their regions.
There is also going to be a celebrity interview session where artistes get to promote their brands, projects and other things. Then comes the ‘Twisted’ segment where gossips about pastors, gospel celebrities and anything about Christianity will be aired.
Kwame Dadzie stepped the threshold of Ghana’s media as a radio presenter at Krush FM, then an online radio, in 2009 in Koforidua when he hosted a show called Get In Touch. Not long after that, he joined George Ayisi Asiedu as his producer on Sunrise FM’s entertainment show dubbed Ultimate Chart Show.
In 2011, he moved to Eastern FM where he produced the Eastern Chart Show hosted by Londona and even presented the tit – bits segment of that show.
In the same year, he produced Abeiku Desmond’s Emak Countdown on Emak FM.
Then on 18th March 2012, Kwame was invited by the late Vision FM boss Oliver Desbordes Acquah to handle their entertainment show, Arts and People.
Kwame did that expertly and in 2014 was nominated in the Radio and Television Personality Awards as Best Radio Personality in the Eastern Region.
Apart from Arts and People, he also hosted Campus Edition, a show that shed light on issues and activities related to secondary and tertiary institutions in the country.
Kwame Dadzie is also a graduate of the University of Ghana with Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology.
