EXCLUSIVE- The Man Behind Cape FM’s Events – Mr. Bhagawan Amartey

There is a saying that it takes one man to cause a change and that might be true with Bhagawan Amartey and his team mates. He is the Head of Marketing, Sales and Event in Cape FM, an urban radio station in Cape Coast.

Background history:
Born as the eldest son into a family of two strong boys, Mr. Amartey had his senior high school education in Cape Coast; Sammo Senior High School to be precise. He continued his education to study HND tourism, but majored in marketing and event management at the Cape Coast Polytechnic. His passion and seriousness attached to education landed him a professional course at the University of Ghana, Legon. At UG, he studied project management.

He had his national service at MTN after tertiary and due to hard work and disciplinary attitude; he was maintained in the company after the service for two more years. He worked with MTN as the area salesman, event and in charge of channel distribution patrolling in the areas from Twifo Praso, Mankessim to Assin Fosu.
He left his previous job to join e transaction GH as the Central Regional sales executive; his knowledge in sales has earned him the ability to sell anything legal to the public without a hustle.
Next …
After to and fro from Accra to Cape Coast, he decided to leave this work to return home permanently to focus on his dream/passion as an event organizer.  “I felt the need to pay attention to my passion which is events”.
Back in school, he pioneered the organization of Miss C. Poly, Queen of SHS, Miss Health/Face of WestCent (for nurses training colleges in central and western region) and more.
“I have lost count of event I have successfully organized” he said this smiling.
At Cape FM
“Joining the orange family has really ignited and inspired me to deliver more of what Im made off. The challenge of been the head of Marketing, Sales and Event for Cape FM is very huge. Reporting to work as early as the bird wakes and going back home that late isn’t easy, he explained. Sometimes I go hungry the whole day because there is a target I need to reach. Speaking with companies to purchase our product and services is another thing.
With the help, guidance and self exemplary leadership skills of my boss, Jimmy Kutin, I have accomplished a lot. He has and would always be my daddy and advisor when it comes to my current work.
Action they say speaks louder than words. I, with my team, have achieved a lot within this few months of taking charge and urbanizing the station.
My Works
Initially, “we came up with the idea to break into the public domain after few months of playing test drive, hence, the need to celebrate the birth of Ghana in a grand style. We   embarked on an event dubbed “independence day bash” which brought over thousand celebrants to Sizzler to have the best fun ever. It was the first and the most patronized event aside the dashiki party.
Other events he pioneered were the Crazy Jeans Pool Party and Dashiki Festival. He introduced outside broadcasting and live streaming of event such as launching of Glee Oil filling station, First Allied, c4c homeopathy, launching of Oguaa Fetu Afahye 2015 and others. We are the first FM station to have our telescopic flags as well as other branding materials.
Cape360gh.com can confirm that most events by Mr. Bhagawan and his team in one way or the other boosted the economy of the region. Dashiki party for instance brought businesses to tailors and seamstresses who had to sew dresses, designers who introduced their unique designs for clients towards the festival.
Word Out..
“But Cape360, I still don’t think I have done enough, I have a lot in me to deliver. I want to be the first to put the newly built stadium to use. I want my colleagues to note that we can equally put up bigger and better event here in cape coast and what they have seen is just a tip of the iceberg.
