Praisetek Gospel Music Awards (PGMA) is an appreciative award which is aimed at appreciating and encouraging not only well known Gospel artistes but also the unknown for their good works in the society, spreading the gospel through music and dedicating their lives to Christ. Quite a number of Gospel artiste have been in the industry for many years and are being discouraged one way or the other either by not receiving recognition in the industry or by low album sales. By giving them an award, we hope to make them more visible, use that as a platform to encourage them, appreciate and celebrate them for their good works in the kingdom of God.
Undoubtedly, gospel artistes have been breaking new grounds and creating different genres of music in the past few years, but the sad truth is that enough has not been done to recognize the immense contributions of these great professionals. We do not believe that they have to wait until they get to heaven to be recognized and that’s why our organization (PRAISETEK) took up the initiative to use this annual dinner and award ceremony to appreciate those who work in the gospel music industry.
The PRAISETEK GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS started in February 2009, and has been witnessed by the ‘Who is Who’ in the UK gospel music industry and other lovers of gospel music, Midnight crew from Nigeria, including the deputy Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Dozie Nwanna and his wife Dr rose Nwanna.
